Crew Displays Software Engineer in Test

Overview:

Join the team that is building the user interfaces astronauts and ground operators will use to interact with spacecraft and space systems. You will own all aspects of test software and software testing associated with displays, including understanding display and vehicle systems, building test plans and test strategies, and writing automation software to be able to interact with these systems in simulated and live environments. You will be responsible for establishing new tools and test frameworks, as well as integrating these tools into the overall vehicle software test systems. Be a part of the team that is creating the future of spaceship display interfaces that will take America's astronauts to space.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans and test code for the display software systems
  • Come up with new and exciting ways to break our software and hardware system
  • Analyze test results and bugs that require in-depth investigations
  • Develop tools that allow for test execution across multiple environments: virtualized hardware, real hardware-in-the-loop, and even vehicle-in-the-loop testing
  • Hands-on integration and troubleshooting of flight hardware/software systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering (project work or industry)
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Must have 2+ years of experience with a scripting language, such as Python

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong software design and development skills
  • Team player with ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing needs and requirements
  • Experience with software test automation for web-based technologies
  • Must be very familiar with Linux; basic administration, development on Linux, scripting, etc.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
