DRAGON PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop production work center design including architectural requirements, facility resources, and part flow to meet manifest and multi-product need across production teams
  • Act as a technical resource to research, specify, and procure equipment to meet product build requirements and will initiate asset performance, serviceability, and maintenance strategy across work centers
  • Lead engineering of facility and production ground support equipment systems; maintains, modifies, and implements support equipment and test fixtures based on production/testing requirements
  • Ownership of floor layouts, capacity studies, and product flow analysis to ensure on-time vehicle delivery to manifest
  • Owns specific Dragon production budgets for yearly construction, asset, operational, and tooling expense; develops internal financial plan among production teams to plan and execute capital spend
  • Sets priority and drive agenda on facility projects to meet critical production schedules
  • Implement data acquisition and tracking for environmental, testing, and safety controls
  • Assist production/engineering leadership team to identify trends and opportunities for optimizing product output, quality enhancements, and cost of manufacturability

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of science in engineering (mechanical, civil, industrial, industrial systems)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial project management role

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Leadership experience in manufacturing engineering or construction fields as project/product engineer
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical systems, and cleanroom environments; specific aerospace ground support equipment experience
  • Experience with construction documentation and developing architectural plans
  • Proficient understanding of important manufacturing concepts such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Heavy interest in developing facility support systems for aerospace production/test
  • Experience with large capital budgeting/project management and financial analysis
  • Creative and passionate approach to addressing challenges, and an enthusiastic, self-motivated attitude that relishes in delivering best-in-class performance
  • Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp/Revit, and Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position may require long hours and weekend work
  • Position will require standing and moving for long periods of time
  • Position requires working with high-pressure pneumatic/hydrostatic systems
