Procurement Lead


  • Serves as a functional expert in global shipping and freight forwarding, customs regulation, multiple modal transport
  • Creates and maintains strong cross-functional teams and strategic alliances to achieve objectives
  • Collaboratively influences change within supply chain, internal stake holders and external suppliers
  • Ensures suppliers to meet or exceed Microsoft security requirements
  • Manage and procure global infrastructure hardware for deployment/fulfillment
  • Manage and coordinate the movement and inventory of all assets (new construction, augments and spares), import/export, taxes and
  • Solves issues related to moving around assets
  • Proven ability to implement and execute international and domestic logistics programs in support of corporate strategy
  • Proven ability to manage import/export customs brakeage and clearance in support of
  • Manages and executes performance metric goals and leads root cause analysis to enable continual improvement
  • Negotiate best rate and service level agreement with logistics service suppliers to achieve high satisfactory performance
  • Drives analytics and delivers financial and operations performance analysis for continuous improvement
  • Responsible for leading logistics service suppliers’ execution in a manner that is compliant with SpaceX compliance policies and procedures


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration or 7+ years of experience in logistics
  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics including import / export


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Data Center engineering experience, including understanding of servers, networking, power systems, cabling and infrastructure
  • Experience with data center contract negotiations for floor space, power and cross connects
  • Experience with data center shipping/receiving logistics
  • Ability to validate purchase requests contain all of the correct parts for a working solutions i.e. correct number and model of line cards, SFP’s, power systems, etc.
  • Experience with transport and Internet bandwidth carrier contract negotiations
