Manufacturing and Production - Technicians and Trade Skills

  • Layout, fabricate, and assemble a wide variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges and related tooling involving compound angles and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes
  • Plan work to be performed and determine methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs
  • Set up and operate optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies
  • Develop and design holding devices and jig and fixture details
  • Make complete layout, fabricate and build all types of jigs and fixtures (including tool masters) involving compound angles and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes
  • Use basic machining techniques with the use of manual milling equipment
  • Ream and hone and/or countersink of uniform close tolerance holes in proper sequence while using the correct tool for the job (e.g., rivet gun and bucking bar, drill motor, power screwdriver, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner)
  • Handle tool finishing processes such as: trimming, benching, polishing, sealing, applying release materials
  • Install potted inserts
  • Use complex tool design drawings and complex engineering blueprints
  • Identify key areas of improvement in our system and communicate these effectively to management


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years of experience designing and building jigs, fixtures, and tooling


  • Experience working with Verisurf software
  • Experience working with a laser tracker
  • Experience working with design drawings and/or engineering blueprints
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high volume production environment
  • An industry recognized expert in precision construction
  • Demonstrated success at accomplishing challenging projects
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite


  • Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime, and weekends, as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying items are generally required to perform the functions of this position
